Abu Dhabi: Pakistan’s leading actors, Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed, were honoured at a special ceremony hosted by Pakistani Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi. The event occurred while the stars were in the United Arab Emirates to promote their upcoming romantic comedy film, Love Guru.
The ambassador presented commemorative shields to both actors to recognise their dedication and achievements. The Pakistan Embassy in the UAE released a statement highlighting the event and praising the country’s rich cultural and artistic diversity.
Ambassador Tirmizi emphasised the importance of Pakistan’s creative industry as a soft power tool shaping the nation's global perception. Recently, Khan and Saeed toured the US, UK, and Canada, engaging in red carpet events, fan meet-and-greets, and press interviews to boost the film’s visibility before its Eid al-Azha release next month.
Love Guru made history by becoming the first Pakistani film to have its trailer displayed on the giant digital screens at New York City’s Times Square. This attracted significant attention from the South Asian diaspora and fans worldwide.
In the film, Saeed plays a flirt pretending to be a relationship expert, while Khan stars as an architect. This promotion and recognition mark another milestone in showcasing Pakistan’s vibrant film industry internationally.
